New Vision Bradford Launches Innovative Campaign for Alcohol Awareness Week

A new video campaign for Alcohol Awareness Week shows that ‘not everyone’s drinking is the same’.

The city’s alcohol and drug support service, New Vision Bradford, have created an impactful campaign showing problematic drinking looks very different from person to person. Featuring two men, whose drinking is very contrasting, it highlights that if you feel that your alcohol use is problematic there is support available.

Becky Norton, Assistant Director, New Vision Bradford said: “People often have a perception of the type of person who reaches out for support from an alcohol service, and it’s often a picture of someone who drinks in the street. The reality is that we support professionals, retirees, mums, dads, all ages, all walks of life and this video starts to address the misconception. We want to remove the stigma that people face when they have a problematic relationship with alcohol and to say that we can help you with your drinking- get in touch with us today.”

A representative from Bradford at Night said: “At Bradford at Night, we’re dedicated to promoting a safe and responsible experience regardless of the occasion. We believe that you don’t have to go all out in bars and venues to have a good time and meet new people, New Vision Bradford quite visibly share that mindset which makes us proud to have such a strong partnership with them. We’re in a very busy season with the added excitement of the Euros 2024. Football brings people together in so many ways when it comes to being out and socialising and it’s important to remember, one drink can very easily kickstart a wider problem. By no means is anybody saying don’t go out and enjoy a good time, but make sure that good time doesn’t fall into a bad time. New Vision’s Alcohol Awareness Week video highlights how easily signs are missed – but equally how easy the first step to help can be.”
