Yorkshire Recovery Walk September 2024
New Vision Bradford are excited to be taking part in the first Yorkshire Recovery Walk on Tuesday 17th September. Along with Calderdale Recovery Steps, Forward Leeds and North Yorkshire Horizons a group of staff, volunteers and people supported by the services will undertake the 18 mile walk from Calderdale to Leeds.
The walk starts at 7.30 from The Basement in Halifax (Calderdale Recovery Steps) and the first leg will walk from The Basement to Pelican House in Bradford (New Vision Bradford). The group will have a stop for lunch and then complete the second leg to 5 Ways to Wellbeing in Leeds (Forward Leeds)
It is a sponsored walk with the money raised going towards the Service User funds for the 4 services leading on the walk. The Service User funds support people in their recovery with everyday essentials or one off items to empower recovery. Planned in September, to celebrate Recovery Month the walk is celebrating people in recovery and the positive changes they have made to their lives.
Often stopping alcohol or drug use is the easy part but finding your path in recovery can be challenging. We aim to support making this easier.
To make a donation visit the Just Giving Page Laura Hammond is fundraising for Humankind Charity (justgiving.com). Keep an eye on the social media sites for updates on the day of the walk. We understand that finances are tight in the current climate but any donation can make a huge difference.
